On Tuesday, July 21st the City of Albany Engineering Department will be changing the traffic pattern and roadway designation within Washington Park.
Washington Park Road/Albany Plan of Union roadway will be converted to a ONE WAY in the westbound direction between Sprague Place entrance, Robin Street, Englewood Place, and State Street. The Sprague Place access will be re-opened to traffic entering or exiting Washington Park, but will be restricted to using the east side of the island for access.
Signage and other traffic safety devices will be placed to designate the ONE WAY roadway section. No other changes to roadways within Washington Park will take place.
Parking will be permitted on both sides of the one way section of Washington Park/Albany Plan of Union as part of the change.
Message boards are in place.
This change is being put in place to increase safety for individuals using the new playground area.
