Investigation Update: Morgan Hill, CA – On July 9, 2026, Morgan Hill Police Officers arrested YMCA summer camp counselor Anthony Joseph Ramos (25 years old) of Gilroy for Penal Code 288(a)—lewd and lascivious acts on a minor.

On the same day, Officers received another report that a second 10-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by Ramon. Detectives quickly scheduled a Multi-Disciplined Child Forensic Interview with the victim and learned the incident also occurred while the victim was attending the same YMCA Summer Day Camp on a field trip to the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center on the same day as the first child victim.
On July 16, 2026, Morgan Hill Police Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Ramon. The warrant was for violation of California Penal Code Section 288(a)—lewd and lascivious acts on a minor and was granted by a Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge. Later that afternoon, MHPD Detectives took Ramon into custody without incident. Ramon was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on $200,000 bail for violating Penal Code Section 288(a). Ramon has since posted bail and was released from custody.

The Morgan Hill Police Department encourages parents and guardians to have open conversations with their children about safe touch and inappropriate adult behavior and to report any suspected abuse or unwanted contact to law enforcement immediately.
