* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Nueces River at Laguna.
* WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning.
* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding reaches low water crossings on Highway 55 above Barksdale on Hackberry Creek. The Nueces River crossing at Barksdale is very dangerous. East of Camp Wood Farm to Market 337 crosses Camp Wood Creek in three places. Vehicular related drownings have occurred at all these sites.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 11.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:30 PM CDT Friday was 17.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening and continue falling to 3.8 feet Wednesday evening. - Flood stage is 10.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges, dips, or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream, even a small one, on foot. To escape rising water find another route over higher ground. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water.
