M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County, is pleased to announce that our outdoor pools and splash parks, golf courses, Trap & Skeet Center, the Wonderful World of Watkins and the Walker Mill Farmers Market are reopening today and will resume normal operations.
Please note: The train at the Wonderful World of Watkins is undergoing service repairs and is closed until further notice.
While these amenities are reopening, air quality remains a concern across our region. Residents are encouraged to stay informed, limit prolonged or strenuous outdoor activity when possible, and take appropriate precautions, especially children, older adults, and individuals with asthma, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions.
If you plan to spend time outdoors today:
- Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks.
- Monitor local air quality conditions throughout the day.
- Watch for symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, or irritation of the eyes and throat, and move indoors if symptoms develop.
- Consider reducing the duration or intensity of outdoor activities if air quality worsens.
The Department will continue to monitor conditions and make operational adjustments as needed to help protect the health and safety of our residents, visitors, participants, and employees.
