A Tornado Watch has been issued for the area until 9 p.m. Also, a Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 6 p.m.
Torrential downpours are slowly sinking south, which have produced a quick 0.5-1.5" in parts of the area. Should this not try to redevelop behind it, we may get into some "breaks" with lighter intensities through mid afternoon before more rounds of downpours/storms get going.
With areas that are already sensitive from the ongoing rain, these next rounds of storms, while perhaps more scattered in nature, can still produce quick 1-2"+ and continue the flood threat, with poor drainage issues. Like prior significant flood threats, localized areas that see 3"+ can have those more higher end impacts with impassible roads and stranded cars/water rescues.
While not the main risk, still watch for these returning storms this afternoon and into early tonight to carry a strong-severe risk, with localized gusty winds...even an isolated tornado.
