Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help in locating Blanca Salto Yung, who is wanted for questioning about a shooting that occurred on Monday, July 13, 2026.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that occurred at approximately 1:56 p.m. in front of a home in the 100 block of Berkley Avenue. On surveillance video, a man wearing grey sweatpants and a black T-shirt argued with someone standing in the doorway.
He was with a woman who tried to calm him down before he pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired toward the front door. The suspect fled in a vehicle, and when officers arrived, they located a .380 caliber shell casing on the sidewalk, a bullet hole in the door, and a wall.
