Search Warrant Served During Narcotics Investigation Results in Drug and Firearms Seizure

DATE/TIME: Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at approximately 02:06 p.m. 

INCIDENT: H&S 11378 - Possession of Methamphetamine for sale 
                   PC 29800 (a) (1) - Addict in Possession of a Firearm.

LOCATION: 55600 Block of MacDonald Drive, Yucca Valley

SUSPECT(S): Marla Yvonne Oberlin, 65-years-old, Resident of Yucca Valley
                       Chad Lee Lemmons, 45-years-old, Resident of Yucca Valley

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Morongo Basin Station, conducted a narcotics investigation involving Marla Yvonne Oberlin. During the investigation, deputies learned Oberlin was on active San Bernardino County probation for a narcotics-related offense.

At approximately 4:07 p.m., deputies responded to the 55600 block of MacDonald Drive to conduct a probation compliance search. During the investigation, deputies prepared and obtained a search warrant, which was subsequently served at the residence.

During the search, deputies located approximately 95.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine, approximately 5.9 grams of suspected heroin, packaging materials, digital scales, pay-owe sheets, narcotics paraphernalia, two firearms, and ammunition. Based on the evidence recovered, deputies determined the items were consistent with the possession of controlled substances for the purpose of sales.

Marla Yvonne Oberlin and Chad Lemmons were arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale (Health and Safety Code section 11378). Lemmons was also arrested on suspicion of being an addict in possession of a firearm (Penal Code section 29800, subdivision (a)(1)). Both were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
