Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach, reports that his office handled a single motor vehicle traffic crash on 7/21/26 at approximately 7:30 pm that occurred on Kingsbury Rd in LaGrange Twp, Cass County MI. A single motor vehicle, driven by Roger Wegner (76 years Old) from Cassopolis MI was eastbound on Kingsbury Rd when a deer ran out in front of Wegner's car causing him to swerve to avoid a collision with the deer. The vehicle loss control leaving the roadway, overturned and struck a tree. Roger Wegner and his passenger Susan Wegner, (71 years old ) from Cassopolis MI were entrapped in the vehicle until public safety personnel were able to get them extricated safely from the vehicle. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wegner were transported to Memorial hospital for minor injuries. The Cass County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Michigan State Police, Cassopolis Fire Department, SMCAS Ambulance Service and the Edwardsburg Ambulance Service.
