Flood Advisory until 01:30PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Passaic and southeast New York, including the following counties, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 130 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1019 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Paterson, Passaic, Wayne, Bloomfield, Hackensack, New City, Newburgh, Bergenfield, Paramus, Ossining, Ridgewood, Peekskill, Lyndhurst, Monsey, Rutherford, Nanuet, Ramsey, Ringwood, Haverstraw and Pompton Lakes. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
