Community Notice – Macomb County Sheriff's Office SWAT Training
Residents may notice an increased law enforcement presence today and tomorrow near Pizza Nostalgia on Van Dyke Avenue.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office SWAT Team will be conducting training exercises at a vacant home located next to Pizza Nostalgia. The Township Hall parking area will be used as their staging location during the exercise.
This is only a training drill. There is no threat to the public and no danger to residents.
The home is scheduled to be demolished, making it an ideal location for realistic training—similar to how our Fire Department conducts training exercises in homes before they are demolished.
Pizza Nostalgia recently purchased the neighboring property and plans to expand its restaurant later this year and is allowing the Sheriff's office to do training.
