Stay weather aware. Monitor trusted sources such as the National Weather Service, local media, or your preferred weather app.
Keep emergency alerts enabled on your mobile phone so Tornado Warnings are received immediately.
Know where you'll take shelter. Move immediately to the lowest level of a sturdy building, preferably an interior room away from windows.
Avoid unnecessary travel. Severe weather can develop rapidly, and heavy rain may reduce visibility or cause flash flooding.
Never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
Charge your electronic devices now in case of power outages.
Secure loose outdoor items that could become airborne in strong winds.
