Disaster Drill tonight at SE Lake, Beach will be closed from 5:00 pm to approximately 7:30 pm. 
The SEPD, SEFD, SEAM, and the Sleepy Eye Medical Center will be conducting a disaster drill on Wednesday July 22nd at Sleepy Eye Lake. The drill is scheduled to take place at 6 pm near the beach. Due to the nature of this drill the beach will be closed to the public at 5 pm until around 7:30 pm. Spectators are welcome to observe from the walking path adjacent to the beach and near Allison park. Any boats are asked to keep a safe distance from the drill if observing. The drill will simulate a boat crash with a water rescue by the Sleepy Eye Fire Department and Sleepy Eye Ambulance crew. Sleepy Eye Police Officers will be near the public viewing area, and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office will be on the water to keep boats a safe distance from the drill. Please follow all instructions from Law Enforcement and any other emergency responder when observing to endure we conduct a safe and productive drill.
