Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., announces that the following streets will be closed during the hours below due to the City of Newark’s Drive-Up and Go Food Distribution event:
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, July 29, 2026
• Elm Street between Lang Street and Adams Street
• Van Buren Street between Lafayette Street and Walnut Street
• Pulaski Street between Lafayette Street and Walnut Street
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Elm Street.
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and plan alternate routes.
Director Miranda thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding criminal activities to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
