Wilmington Police have arrested a man on DUI and gun charges following a vehicle collision.
On July 17 at approximately 9:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 36th and North Market Streets in reference to a vehicle collision with injuries. Arriving officers made contact with the driver of the striking vehicle, 73-year-old Gregory Robinson, who was found to be impaired and was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered a .380-caliber handgun from his waistband.
The occupants of the vehicle that was struck declined medical attention on scene.
Robinson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence
- Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol
- Inattentive Driving
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $351 unsecured bail.
