The Newark Department of Public Safety will host its annual National Night Out event from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026, at West Side Park, 17th Avenue and 17th Street (entrance) in Newark. National Night Out is an annual crime and drug prevention awareness event endorsed by the National Association of Town Watch. It is designed to generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and foster police-community relationships. Attendees may enjoy free food, music, giveaways, bouncy rides, view Police equipment and horses, and receive public safety information.
