When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Statistics are captured at the time each Crime Bulletin is written; additional cases may be reported at a later time.
  
 
Robberies
 
There were two robberies during the past week.
 
On Friday, 07-17-26, at approximately 10:18 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the Dollar Tree on Geneva Avenue on a report of a group of individuals who had taken merchandise. The manager stated that one female and two male suspects entered the store without any items in their possession. A few minutes later, the female suspect was seen carrying plastic containers and food items. She made no attempt to purchase the merchandise and walked out of the store. The two male suspects also exited the store but were not seen carrying any merchandise. The suspects walked toward a black Lexus sedan occupied by another female in the driver’s seat. The manager walked outside in an attempt to photograph the vehicle’s license plate. The female suspect carrying the stolen merchandise attempted to spit on the manager, and the two male suspects threatened to shoot him; however, no weapons were seen. The suspects fled in the Lexus sedan. The suspect who took the merchandise was described as a Black female, approximately 20 years old, about 5’11” tall, with a tattoo on her neck. One of the male suspects was described as a Black male, approximately 20 years old, about 5’11” tall, with dreadlocks, a thin build, and wearing a gray shirt and dark pants. The second male suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 20 years old, about 5’11” tall, wearing a black hoodie and gold pants. The driver of the vehicle was described as a heavyset Black female, approximately 30 years old. This investigation is ongoing.
 
On Friday, 07-17-26, at approximately 11:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Crocker Avenue on a report of an assault. Two suspects approached the victim, assaulted him, took his girlfriend’s purse, and fled. The following day, both suspects were located and arrested. One suspect, a 36-year-old Hayward resident, was booked into jail for robbery and assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury. The second suspect, a 30-year-old Daly City resident, was booked into jail for robbery, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, and committing a felony while released on bail.
 
 
Residential Burglaries
 
There was one residential burglary during the past week.
 
On Monday, 07-13-26, at approximately 5:23 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the unit block of Bepler Street on a report of a burglary. The victims stated that an unknown suspect entered their garage, stole two inflatable mattresses, four lawn chairs, an inflatable boat, and bins of family heirlooms, and fled.
 
 
Commercial Burglaries
 
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.
 
 
Vehicle Burglaries   
 
There was one attempted vehicle burglary during the past week.
 

• 300 block of Vista Grande Avenue—an attempted vehicle burglary of a 2015 Hyundai. Both rear doors were pried, causing damage. Occurred on 07-15-26 at an unknown time.

 
 
Stolen Vehicles 
 
There were two vehicles stolen and three attempted vehicle thefts during the past week. One vehicle was recovered.
 

• Goethe Street and Mission Street—a theft of a 2006 Audi A4. Occurred on 07-13-26 between 5:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  **Recovered by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office on 07-14-26.

 

• 100 block of Oliver Street—a theft of a 2018 Hyundai Elantra. Occurred on 07-17-26 at approximately 2:44 a.m.

 

• 500 block of Hanover Street—an attempted theft of a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Occurred on 07-17-26 at approximately 2:40 a.m.

 

• 500 block of Hanover Street—an attempted theft of a 2021 Kia Soul. Occurred on 07-17-26 at approximately 2:40 a.m.

 

• Unit block of Alexander Avenue—an attempted theft of a 2013 Kia. Occurred on 07-17-26 at approximately 2:46 a.m.

 
 
Miscellaneous
 

• There were 130 cases taken.

 

• There were 13 domestic disturbance cases reported.

 

• There were 5 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.

 

• There were 9 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.

 

• There were 2 cases of public intoxication.

 

• There were 2 hit-and-run collisions reported.

 

• There were 6 narcotics-related cases taken.

Free Compost Giveaway
 
The City of Daly City is partnering with its waste hauler, Republic Services, to host free a compost giveaway event. Compost will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The event will take place at the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (153 Lake Merced Boulevard) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:
 
September 16-17, 2026
 
To participate in the compost giveaway, please bring a sturdy container, shovels, and gloves for this self-serve event. Residents must show proof of residency and are limited to five (5) 5-gallon buckets of compost per household. Events are weather permitting and will be canceled due to rain.

Catalytic Converter Etch and Protect Program
 
The Daly City Police Department is combating catalytic converter theft by providing 500 CatGuard etching label kits to the first 500 Daly City residents who complete a registration form. Once 500 completed registration forms have been submitted, the registration process will cease. Please note, one label kit per household. 
 
Each resident will be notified via email or phone call if you qualify for the label kit. Residents will be provided with a date, time and location of where the kit can be picked up. During the time of pick up, the resident will need to show proof of current residence (i.e., identification and/or utility bill). If you have any questions, please call 650-991-8119. Sandbags Available While Supplies Last
 
Sandbags are accessible 24/7 at two locations for residents with proof of residency:
 
- Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (parking lot) - 153 Lake Merced Blvd.  
- Department of Public Works (Corporation Yard entrance) - 798 Niantic Ave.  
 
Limit 10. Please take only what is needed as supplies are limited. When filling sandbags, fill them only halfway, so they are not too heavy to lift and will stack properly.
