Free Sandbags Distribution 
With the recent Hill Country rains, weather officials warn strong currents, rising river levels and possible downstream flooding are creating new safety concerns, threatening nearby communities. As precautionary measures, the City of Mathis Public Works Department will continue providing sandbags today, till 5:00 p.m. for city residents on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
