The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Altadena Sheriff’s Station are investigating a hate-motivated act of vandalism that occurred at the 1400 block of North Altadena Drive in the unincorporated area of Pasadena.
Friday, July 24, 2026, it was reported, unknown suspect(s) vandalized a mural at a place of worship with an antisemitic statement and swastikas. The vandalism is being investigated as a hate crime.
Altadena Station Captain Ethan Marquez said, "The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Altadena Sheriff's Station condemn this act of antisemitic vandalism in the strongest possible terms. Crimes motivated by hate have no place in our community. We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation, holding those responsible accountable, and standing with our Jewish community, all faith communities, and every resident against all forms of hatred and intolerance."
Sheriff's detectives are actively investigating this incident and are working to identify those responsible.
