Wilmington Police have arrested two men following a burglary in progress.
 
On July 23 at approximately 7:05 a.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block of West 26^th Street in reference to a burglary in progress. Arriving officers observed 38-year-old Robert Chandler actively removing copper piping from a residence; as police attempted to make contact, he fled and was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit. Officers subsequently located and took a second suspect, 53-year-old Jason Miles, into custody without incident. Miles was found to be wanted on multiple unrelated matters.
 
Chandler has been charged with the following offenses:

• Burglary (Third Degree)
• Possession of Burglary Tools
• Conspiracy (Second Degree)
• Criminal Mischief Over $1,000
• Resisting Arrest

He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $10,000 cash-only bail.
 
Miles has been charged with the following offenses:

• Burglary (Third Degree)
• Conspiracy (Second Degree)
• Criminal Mischief Over $1,000

He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,000 cash-only bail.
