NEBO FELON CHARGED FOR FIREARM POSSESSION
Deputy Jaden Gragg with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old Justin Bradley Johnson of Nebo with felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon. He was denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
On July 19, deputies conducted a traffic stop off N.C. 226 South, on a white Toyota truck for a traffic violation. Johnson, the driver, was operating the vehicle with no license and a fictitious registration plate. It was also discovered that he had multiple outstanding warrants in both McDowell and Mitchell counties.
A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a loaded firearm. Johnson is a convicted felon and is not allowed to own or possess a gun in the state of North Carolina.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the N.C. State Highway Patrol for their assistance with this incident.
