INCIDENT: PC 368(B)(1) - Elder Abuse Causing Injury
PC 245(A)(1)- Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Not a Firearm)
LOCATION: 2000 block of Lillyhill Drive, Needles, CA
SUSPECT(S): Monica Smith, 34-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Friday, July 24, 2026, at approximately 6:51 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to a call for service reference a disturbance.
During the investigation, the suspect, Monica Smith, was found to be in violation of PC 368(B)(1) - Elder Abuse Causing Injury and PC 245(A)(1) - Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Not a Firearm), after it was discovered she physically assaulted the victim with a household object. The victim received medical attention at the scene.
Smith was consequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. Smith remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $40,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
