Two Petaluma PD Officers Recognized for Traffic Safety
Congratulations to our officers who were honored at the annual Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Law Enforcement and Prosecutor Recognition Awards!
The event recognizes officers, deputies, and CHP personnel across the region for their dedication to DUI enforcement and commitment to making our roads safer.
Petaluma PD’s Officer Ben Schott and Officer Jayce Hanson were recognized for their commitment to increasing traffic safety by each having made more than 25 DUI arrests in a year.
Traffic safety is a core focus of our department because it directly impacts the safety and well-being of everyone in our city. These recognitions reflect not only the dedication of the officers named, but the collective effort of our entire department to reduce impaired driving and prevent tragedies before they happen. Officers continue to identify peak collision times and locations and apply intelligence-led strategies to prevent harm. The Department’s efforts are supported by Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) grants, which help fund DUI checkpoints, saturation patrols, public safety campaigns, and traffic education initiatives. DUI enforcement requires vigilance, compassion, and professionalism, and we’re proud of the commitment our officers demonstrate every time they put on the uniform. The Petaluma Police Department remains committed to proactive enforcement and ongoing partnerships with community stakeholders, MADD, and state and local agencies to ensure safe and sober roads for all.
