A flash flood warning has been issued for our area.
Heavy rains of 1-2” an hour are expected today through late Wednesday, and significant flash flooding is possible.
Isolated, severe thunderstorms are also expected to bring dangerous winds, severe hail, and a threat of localized tornados.
Residents are encouraged to take steps to prepare before the storm:
- Secure outdoor furniture, umbrellas, garbage cans, and other loose items.
- Charge cell phones and portable battery packs.
- Have flashlights available in case of power outages.
- Avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rain and thunderstorms.
- Never drive through flooded roadways—Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
If a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or Tornado Warning is issued, move indoors immediately and stay away from windows.
