The Newark Police Community Affairs and Clergy Unit will host a “Detectives Giving Back” event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Shani Baraka Women’s Resource Center, located at 300 Clinton Avenue. The event, hosted by Detective R. Merritt, is dedicated to uplifting women by providing essential resources, education, and support, and by creating a welcoming environment for all community members. Gently used clothing, food, gift bags, and resources will be offered to attendees.
