Downtown Water Main Emergency Shutdown at 1:00 p.m. Today
The City and Borough of Wrangell will temporarily shut down the downtown water main beginning at 1:00 p.m. AKDT today, July 28, to complete emergency repairs to the water main break on North Case Avenue near the bend before Lower Church Street.
The shutdown is expected to affect water service throughout the downtown area. Repairs are currently estimated to take approximately two hours, although the duration may change depending on conditions encountered by the Public Works crew.
Residents and businesses in the affected area are encouraged to store any water they may need before 1:00 p.m. Please continue to avoid the North Case Avenue work area whenever possible. Limiting traffic will help crews work safely and complete repairs as quickly as possible.
