Apple Valley Man Arrested After Intentionally Striking Two Pedestrians

DATE/TIME: July 26, 2026, at 3:14 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 243(d) – Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury 
                   PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon
                   PC 664/187 – Attempted Murder

LOCATION: Bear Valley Road / Navajo Road, Apple Valley

SUSPECT: Ivan Lizarraga, 19-year-old, Resident of Apple Valley 

VICTIMS: 19-year-old female, Resident of Apple Valley
                 17-year-old male, Resident of Apple Valley
       

SUMMARY: On July 26, 2026, at approximately 3:14 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Station, along with personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District, responded to the area of Navajo Road and Bear Valley Road regarding a reported hit-and-run traffic collision involving two pedestrians.

During the investigation, deputies determined the suspect, identified as Ivan Lizarraga, intentionally drove his vehicle into two pedestrians before fleeing the scene without rendering aid or notifying law enforcement.

The 19-year-old female victim sustained major injuries, while the 17-year-old male victim sustained moderate injuries. Both victims were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Deputies later located Lizarraga at his residence, where he was arrested without incident. He was booked at the High Desert Detention Center for PC 243(d) – Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury, PC 245(a)(1) – Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and PC 664/187 – Attempted Murder. Lizarraga is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
