Update from the Mayor on tax bills

The following is an update from Mayor Emily B. Jabbour on property tax bills:

Dear residents,

I wanted to share a brief update about this quarter's property tax bills and explain why they are later than usual, as well as what we are doing to make the process as easy as possible.

This quarter's bills were delayed due to the required state certification process. While that process is outside the City's control, and I know waiting for your tax bill can be frustrating, the City was not able to issue bills until that process was complete. I appreciate your patience.

Tax bills are available online at www.hobokennj.gov/departments/taxation, where you can also find the payment portal, payment deadlines, and contact information for the tax office. Paper bills should be mailed in the next week to ten days.

Quarterly property tax payments are due on August 1, 2026, but to offset delayed mailing, we have extended the payment grace period to August 31, 2026.

My administration is committed to keeping you informed and making City government as responsible and transparent as possible. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Tax Collector’s Office at (201) 420-2000 X 1220.

Thank you for your understanding as we continue to work together to make Hoboken such a special place to call home.

Sincerely,

Emily B. Jabbour, Mayor
