Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who is wanted for a shooting on July 25, 2026.
At approximately 7 p.m., the ShotSpotter system picked up gunfire on Stratford Avenue between Clinton Avenue and Avon Avenue. When Police Officers arrived, they canvassed the area and recovered seven 9mm shell casings.
A portable sign, the window of a property, and a vehicle’s window were struck by gunfire. The suspect, a Black male, is described as 5’10” and 180 pounds with an athletic build. He has long dreadlocks and wore jeans and black sneakers as he fled northbound into Jesse Allen Park.
During the investigation, Police Officers also recovered a ripped black T-shirt, a ripped white tank top, and three strands of dreadlock hair.
