Deputies Utilize FLOCK Technology to Recover Victim's Stolen Vehicle and Arrest Two Suspects

SUMMARY: Deputies Utilize FLOCK Technology to Recover Victim's Stolen Vehicle and Arrest Two Suspects
On Sunday, July 19, 2026, deputies from the Morongo Basin Station recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested two suspects following a vehicle theft investigation in the City of Twentynine Palms.
On July 19, 2026, Morongo Basin Station deputies responded to a residence in the 70000 Block of Sunset Drive, regarding the theft of a white 2000 Ford F-350 pickup truck from the victim's driveway.
Deputy H. Round assumed the investigation and conducted follow-up investigation into the stolen vehicle. During the investigation, Deputy H. Round reviewed surveillance footage and utilized FLOCK camera technology and other law enforcement databases to identify a vehicle associated with the theft. The investigation determined a blue Honda Civic was involved in transporting one of the suspects to the location where the Ford F-350 was stolen.
Deputy H. Round located the Honda Civic in Yucca Valley and observed two subjects matching the descriptions of the individuals seen during the theft investigation. Deputy H. Round later conducted a traffic stop near Barron Drive and El Dorado Avenue in Yucca Valley and both suspects were detained without further incident. The suspects were identified as Daniel Montes, a 36-year-old resident of Riverside, and Julio Delgado, a 35-year-old resident of Riverside. Furthermore, Deputy H. Round recovered the stolen Ford F-350, which was returned to the victim.
Montes was arrested for PC 496D, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and VC 10851, Taking a Vehicle Without the Owner's Consent. Delgado was arrested for PC 182(a)(1), Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Both suspects were transported and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department reiterates that public safety is the Department's number one priority.
