1. Traffic Fatality (0702) Martin Luther King Blvd and B Street, Seaport District
Officers responded to a report of a person down and found the victim unresponsive with severe body trauma. Medical personnel pronounced the pedestrian deceased. The victim showed signs of having been hit by a vehicle. The Traffic Unit took over the investigation. SUSPECT: Unknown.
2. Arson (0730) 2900 Block of Raleigh Drive, Bearcreek District
The suspect was walking in the area with a gas can when he doused a vehicle with gasoline. He then lit the vehicle on fire and watched it burn. Responding officers took the suspect into custody without incident. ARRESTED: Emanuel Ariza, 42, for arson.
