A traffic stop in Glenwood on Tuesday led to the arrests of three McDowell County individuals after drugs were found.
Deputy Tre Spearman of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged the following:
- 45-year-old William Jerome Buchanan of Marion with felony possession of methamphetamine. He received a $5,000 secured bond.
- Alan Scott Randolph, 57, of Marion, with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. He received a $31,500 secured bond.
- Valerie Michelle Black, 33, of Nebo, with felony possession of fentanyl. She received a $10,000 secured bond.
On Tuesday, July 28, Deputy Spearman assisted the N.C. State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop in Glenwood.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants turned up 6.7 grams of methamphetamine, dabs (concentrated marijuana resin), marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Buchanan and Randolph were transported to the McDowell County Detention Center for booking. During this time, additional drugs were found on Randolph, leading to the felony Possession of a Controlled Substance on Jail Premises.
N.C. probation officers who were already at the scene further conducted a search of the residence shared by Buchanan and Black, both of whom were on probation. Fentanyl was found inside the home at this time which led to the charge against Black.
