July 12th
Warrant Arrest/Suspended License – Central Ave/Carlson Blvd:
At 1:41 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for an active warrant and driving with a suspended driver's license. The driver was arrested and transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd/Peerless Ave:
At 2:18 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for an active warrant. The driver was arrested and transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Vandalism – 3200 block of Santa Clara Ave:
At 10:59 PM, an officer reports a suspect damaged the victim’s vehicle.
July 13th
Stolen Vehicle – 2900 block of San Mateo Ave:
At 3:39 AM, an officer reports a suspect stole the victim’s vehicle.
Shoplift/Probation Violation – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky):
At 6:56 AM, an officer was flagged down by Lucky employees regarding a theft that just occurred. The officer detained a suspect at the Plaza BART station, who was positively identified during an in-field show up. The officer accepted the citizen’s arrest, and the suspect was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department. The suspect was on active felony probation in Contra Costa County, and probation requested a hold so the suspect was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 11511 San Pablo Ave (IHOP):
At 11:34 AM, an officer took a telephone report of an assault that occurred on Saturday, July 11. During a fight in the IHOP parking lot, the victim reported they were struck in the forehead with brass knuckles by a known suspect causing a small laceration The victim did not desire prosecution.
Shoplift/Possession of Narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia/Theft with Priors – 3160 Carlson Blvd.
At 8:43 PM, officers responded to a theft from the business. The subject was detained and arrested. The subject was later transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
Warrant Arrest/Possession of Narcotics – 11165 San Pablo Ave.
At 11:03 PM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a subject for an outstanding warrant and possession of narcotics. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
July 14th
Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave/Knott Ave.
At 9:09 PM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the passenger on an outstanding warrant. The subject received a citation and was released at the scene.
July 15th
Burglary – 400 block of Kearney Street:
At 12:23 PM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect has been sleeping in the house under renovation and has stolen property two nights in a row.
Robbery – 4010 El Cerrito Plaza (AT&T):
At 5:30 PM, officers responded to a theft from the business. The suspect entered the store and took a cellphone from the counter. When the suspect fled, they pushed their way past the security guard and fled on foot towards BART.
Attempt Grand Theft – 5900 block of Jordan Ave:
At 6:17 PM, the victim reported an unknown suspect attempted to steal their catalytic converter from their truck.
Warrant Arrest/Possession of Narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia – 11545 San Pablo Ave.
At 1:04 AM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a subject for possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. It was later determined the subject had three felony warrants for their arrest. The subject was transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
July 16th
Indecent Exposure/Resist Public Officer/Provide False Info to Police/Possess Controlled Substance/Possess Drug – 6021 Central Ave (Burger King):
At 7:10 AM, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a suspect after they exposed themself to employees at the front counter. The suspect provided a false name and date of birth to officers when contacted. The suspect resisted when officers attempted to take them into custody and was taken to the ground for handcuffing. An officer sustained minor injuries during the fight. Methamphetamine and a meth pipe were located during a search incident to arrest. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
July 17th
Shoplifting – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 10:38 AM, an officer reports a subject stole merchandise from the store. The subject fled prior to police arrival.
Theft by false pretenses – 1700 block of Liberty Street:
At 2:04 PM, an officer reports a victim was scammed out of money from a cryptocurrency scam. The unknown suspects used a ruse to have the victim purchase large amounts of cryptocurrency and transfer it into a separate account.
Theft – 7200 block of Blake Street:
At 6:36 PM, an officer reports a suspect stole the victim’s property.
Theft/Possession of Drug Paraphrenia – 3500 block of Carlson Blvd:
At 8:25 PM, officers were dispatched to the area for a suspicious subject inside the caller’s back lot. Officers located the subject nearby and detained them. Officers conducted a records check and discovered the subject was on active probation with a search clause. Officers conducted a probation search and located a glass pipe in the subject’s possession. During the investigation, officers located video of the subject removing property from the lot. The victims were contacted and they declined to pursue charges. The subject was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphrenia and released at the scene.
Driving Under the Influence/Unlicensed/Child Endangerment – 6021 Central Avenue (Burger King):
At 9:32 PM, officers were dispatched to the Burger King for an intoxicated driver in the drive through. Officers contacted the driver, who had two young children inside the vehicle. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and determined the driver was under the influence. The driver was placed under arrest, and the children were released to a sober relative who responded to the scene. After booking, the driver was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
July 18th
Evading a Peace Officer – San Pablo Ave/Moeser Lane:
At 8:58 AM, an officer was dispatched to a reckless driver travelling southbound on San Pablo Avenue. The officer located the vehicle entering the city of Albany and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield to the officer in which a pursuit ensued. Out of a concern for public safety, the pursuit was terminated a short distance later.
Theft – 2300 Gloria Street:
At 6:17 PM, an officer reports a suspect stole property from the victim’s porch.
Theft – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 9:22 PM, an officer reports a suspect stole property from the victim’s vehicle.
