Isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are possible today, Monday, August 3, between 12pm and 8pm, according to the National Weather Service. Locally heavy rainfall may also lead to flash flooding on streets near our lakes, with rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour possible.
Relocate vehicles: Avoid parking in flood-prone areas, especially near Wesley Lake, Sunset Lake, and Deal Lake. Move vehicles to higher ground away from trees and other hazards.
Avoid flooded roadways: If roadways appear flooded, do not attempt to drive through high water. In the event of an emergency during the storm, call 911.
