OPD NEWS:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) requests the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a burglary and assault. The Special Victim Unit (SVU) is investigating the incident, which occurred just before 9:00 a.m. on July 20, 2026, in the 1900 block of Harrington Avenue.
Investigators report that the suspect entered the residence, assaulted the victim, and left with several items and evidence.
Suspect Description:
The victim describes the suspect as a Black male, approximately 20 to 30 years old, about 6 feet tall, with yellow eyes, facial acne or razor bumps, and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black Nike hoodie with black Nike lettering, black Air Force 1 sneakers, and reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol and cigarettes.
He was last seen running into Cesar Chavez Park at 1835 38th Avenue. An area he is known to frequent.
