SUBJECT: Felony Indecent Exposure Suspect Apprehended
LOCATION: 2600 Block of Broadway, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: August 4, 2026, Approximately 4:38 P.M.
On August 4, 2026, the Redwood City Police Department received a 911 call reporting a male subject walking on El Camino Real while masturbating and exposing himself in public. The department deployed its Drone as a First Responder (DFR), which quickly located the suspect. The drone captured the suspect’s actions and guided responding officers to his location, allowing officers to detain him without incident.
The suspect was identified as 45‑year‑old Redwood City resident Marcelo Arancibia. Multiple victims, including adults and children, were identified during the investigation. Arancibia was placed under arrest and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility for the following charges: Penal Code 314.1 – Felony Indecent Exposure, Penal Code 3056 – Felony Parole Violation, and Penal Code 290.011(a) – Felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
