At 1114 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 6 miles northwest of York, or 4 miles east of Smyrna, moving east at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Gastonia, York, Rock Hill, Fort Mill, South Gastonia, Tega Cay, Clover, Newport, Cramerton, and Lowell.
