Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., cordially invites the community to join the upcoming Public Safety Run with the Director event at 8 a.m., Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, at Newark Firehouse Engine 13, located at 718 Mt. Prospect Avenue.
Members of the community are cordially invited to participate alongside Police, Firefighters, members of the Office of Emergency Management, and the Office of Violence Prevention and Trauma Recovery for this fun activity, aimed at maintaining our physical and mental well-being and strengthening our relationships.
Runners ages 18+ are welcome to join us by simply throwing on their activewear and sneakers for a 1.5-mile run, held at a different public safety location at 8 a.m. each Wednesday until Labor Day.
Please arrive at each run by 7:45 a.m. for a pre-run stretch. Kindly consult with your doctor before joining the run if you have any medical concerns.
The following run, on August 19th, will be held at the 9th/Metro Newark Police Precinct located at 22 Franklin Street. #newarknj #police #firefighters #running #community
