On August 6, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Rialto Police Department officers were dispatched to the shopping center parking lot located at 211 W. Baseline Road following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 15-year-old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the back. The victim was conscious and breathing when officers arrived. Rialto Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local medical center for treatment, where he remains in stable condition.
Detectives from the Rialto Police Department’s Investigation Bureau responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Based on preliminary information, detectives believe the shooting was a targeted incident and does not appear to have been a random act of violence.
Detectives are actively pursuing investigative leads and working to identify and locate the person responsible for the shooting. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation, and no additional suspect information is being released at this time.
