| On 08/06/2026, at approximately 8:09 PM, patrol deputies from the Camarillo Police Station responded to the 900 block of Calabria Court regarding a 78-year-old male subject not breathing. Ventura County Fire Department and AMR medical personnel also responded and provided medical aid to the subject. However, the subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. During the preliminary investigation, patrol deputies learned there was a dispute between the decedent and a 69-year-old female neighbor just prior to the call for service. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau responded to assist and learned the female’s actions may have caused the decedent to fall to the ground. The death is being investigated as a potential homicide, pending the autopsy results from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
