Flash Flood Warning until 08:45PM 
At 712 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Radar has estimated between 2 and 4 inches of rain having fallen in the area. The heaviest rainfall has moved northeast of the area, with rainfall rates decreased 0.5 inch in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area before coming to and end by 8pm. Several reports of road closures and water rescues have been reported. Flash flooding is ongoing, with rapid rises along streams and small rivers noted. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... New City, Ossining, Ridgewood, Monsey, Nanuet, Ramsey, Haverstraw, Nyack, Pearl River, Orangeburg, Upper Nyack, Spring Valley, Wyckoff, Glen Rock, Franklin Lakes, Hillsdale, River Vale, Waldwick and Valley Cottage.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. If you are in a basement, be prepared to move to a higher floor. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
