INCIDENT: Armed Robbery Arrest
LOCATION: 14000 block of La Paz Drivce, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Brandon Craig Brown, 42-years-old, Resident of Los Angeles
Latoya Smith, 43-years-old, Resident of Victorville

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at approximately 3:49 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to an armed robbery that occurred in the 14000 block of La Paz Drive in the City of Victorville.
An unknown suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun, and demanded employees and customers surrender their wallets and cellular phones. During the robbery, the suspect also deployed pepper spray at victims inside the business before fleeing on foot to a waiting getaway vehicle.
During the investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance footage from the area and identified a vehicle believed to have been used during the robbery. Through additional investigative efforts, detectives identified the robbery suspect as 42-year-old, Brandon Craig Brown, a resident of Los Angeles, and identified Latoya Smith, a 43-year-old Victorville resident, as an alleged accessory.
Detectives utilized Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) technology and other investigative resources to locate the suspect vehicle. On Thursday, August 6, 2026, Brown and Smith were located in the City of Victorville and taken into custody without incident.
The arrests were the result of a coordinated investigative effort utilizing surveillance footage, ALPR technology, and additional investigative resources. The Victorville Police Department remains committed to identifying and apprehending individuals responsible for violent crimes in the community and utilizing available technology to assist investigators in bringing those responsible to justice.
