* At 828 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 7 miles north of Tucumcari to 15 miles north of Sumner Lake State Park, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Surface observations. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
* Locations impacted include... Tucumcari, Fort Sumner, Quay, Melrose, San Jon, Grady, House, Ragland, Tolar and Taiban. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 312 and 362. Highway 60 between Mile Markers 323 and 379. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 99 and 105.

Instructions:
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms have produced widespread damaging winds and are capable of producing large hail. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
