Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male adult. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at approximately 9:40 PM, on the 3500 block of Liberty Boulevard in the city of South Gate.
Officers from the South Gate Police Department responded to the 3500 block of Liberty Boulevard in the city of South Gate regarding an assault with a deadly weapon, gunshot victim call. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. An individual that was identified by witnesses as being responsible for the shooting was detained by officers.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The investigation is on going, and currently, there is no additional information available at this time.
