Wilmington Police make arrest in connection with July 6 shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident that took place on July 6.
On July 6 at approximately 1:49 p.m., police responded to the area of 8th and Adams Streets in reference to a shooting incident. Officers located a 29-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Thomas Rittenhouse of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Rittenhouse identified 25-year-old Jamar Jackson as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. Jackson was taken into custody with the assistance of the United States Marshals Task Force on August 5, and has been charged with the following offenses:
- Attempted Murder (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000 – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
