Special Weather Statement until 02:15PM

At 143 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles northeast of Glenville to 6 miles southwest of Ravenswood. Movement was southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Ripley, Spencer, Glenville, Grantsville, Sandyville, Arnoldsburg, Kenna, Cedar Creek State Park, Stonewall Jackson, Rock Cave, Burnsville, Reedy, Sand Fork, Newberne, Lucille, Stumptown, Tanner, French Creek, Mount Alto, and Peewee. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 73 and 95. Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 123 and 146.

Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for southeastern Ohio...and northern, western, central, north central, northeastern and northwestern West Virginia.
