Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who took a victim’s cell phone on May 12, 2026.
At approximately 9:25 p.m., the victim was throwing out trash from her apartment in the 200 block of Central Avenue. She was approached by the suspect, who took her cellphone. He is described as 5’6” to 5’7” and was wearing a grey jacket, a white T-shirt, a white belt, light blue ripped jeans, and a blue-and-white bandana.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
