Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who took a victim’s desktop computer that Fedex delivered on August 9, 2026.
The computer was left on the porch of a home on 18th Avenue between Smith and Mead Street at approximately 10:28 a.m. Several minutes later, at 10:35 a.m., the suspect was captured on surveillance video taking the computer. The suspect, described as a Black male with a medium build, had an unkempt beard and a matted Afro. He was wearing a black tank top, black pants, and white sneakers.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspects’ identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
