Victorville Deputies Arrest Man After Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Loaded Illegally Manufactured Gun

LOCATION: Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): John Ochoa, 35-years-old, Resident of Victorville
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 2:17 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Station conducted a proactive traffic enforcement stop near Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as 35-year-old John Ochoa.
During the course of the investigation, deputies located a loaded, illegally manufactured "ghost gun" eqiupped with an extended magazine inside the vehicle. The firearm was modeled after a Glock handgun and contained no serial number or identifying marks.
John Ochoa was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for P.C. 29180 - Possession of an Unserialized Firearm, and P.C. 32310 - Possession of a High Capacity Magainze.
