Due to weather, Fitness in the Park with Pure Barre at Pier A has been cancelled tonight, Aug. 10. 

Vendor registration for the River City Fair available

The City of Hoboken today announced that vendor registration is now open for the return of the River City Fair, the city’s historic waterfront festival celebrating music, arts, culture, local businesses, and community. Vendor applications will be accepted now through Wednesday, Sept. 9. 

The free, family-friendly River City Fair will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. along Sinatra Drive from First Street to Fifth Street, transforming Hoboken’s waterfront into a celebration of live entertainment, local artists and makers, food vendors, community organizations, with activities for residents and visitors of all ages. 

Vendor opportunities are available exclusively to Hoboken and Hudson County businesses, artists, food vendors, crafters, and makers, interested in showcasing their work, products, and services at the fair.

Learn more about the Hoboken Renewable Energy Program

Residents are invited to learn more about the Hoboken Renewable Energy Program in which residents can get even more of their electricity from green sources while saving money.  

The City will host a virtual information session on Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.  and an in-person information session at the Multi-Service Center at 124 Grand St. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The first 30 minutes of both information sessions will be presented in English and the second 30 minutes will be presented in Spanish. 

The City’s consultant will provide details on the program, which has saved residents over $1 million since its launch, including upcoming updates, and answer questions.

Additional information about the updated program has been mailed to residents. This mailer includes details of the updated program, frequently asked questions, and ways residents can opt out of the program if they do not want to participate. All mail will clearly state “Hoboken Renewable Energy Program” on it, with a return address from "City of Hoboken c/o Concord Energy Services."   

The program is an opt-out program as required by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities as stated in N.J.A.C. 14:4-6. Please note, residents can opt-out of the program at any time, and there are no fees associated with opting out.

REMINDER: Residents are invited to a screening of Paw Patrol on Tuesday 

Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a screening of Paw Patrol on Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at ResilienCity Park (12th & Adams Streets). The screening is part of the City's Free Movies Under the Stars series, which provides free outdoor movie nights for the community throughout the summer. Please note, the screening will be of the first Paw Patrol movie in celebration of the upcoming new Dino Movie with limited free giveaways.  

Families are encouraged to bring low-back lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of outdoor entertainment before the movie's official release. Residents are encouraged to arrive early to find seating.

Donate school supplies to those in need 

The Office of Constituent Services has partnered with non-profit FamilyHood to collect school supplies for residents in need.  

Donations of crayons, pencils, pens, markers, folders, backpacks, binders, glue, notebooks, and highlighters can be dropped off at Hoboken City Hall at 94 Washington St. between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, until Aug. 14. 

Come to the Sinatra Sing-off Thursday 

Residents are invited to the Sinatra Sing-off this Thursday, Aug. 13, at 6:30 p.m., at Sinatra Park where registered contestants will compete for the title of best Sinatra Singer!  

The 2026 contestants include Marco Barrios, Michael Cannarozzi, Angelo Cerrone, Joey Commentucci, Tim Kraft, William Sayre, Bill Stabile, Noboru Kataoka, Tim Rutherford, and Joseph “Jo Jo” Trusso. 

There will also be a special performance by the 2025 Sinatra Sing-off Winner John Rinell. 

Come to the Green Fair Saturday 

Come to the Hoboken Green Fair this Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Church Square Park.  

The Hoboken Green Fair aims to introduce sustainable lifestyle choices to the community, raise awareness about environmental issues, and show how consumers can reduce their environmental impact.  

The event will focus on eco-friendly products and services, energy and water conservation, and strategies for decreasing reliance on fossil fuels.
