TRAFFIC ALERT: SOUTHBOUND M-53 CLOSURE AT 32 MILE ROAD
Location: M-53 (Van Dyke) & 32 Mile Road, Washington Township
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has announced that southbound M-53 (Van Dyke), south of 32 Mile Road, will be closed from August 12 through August 19 to allow for sanitary sewer infrastructure work associated with a Washington Township project.
Detour Route:
- Westbound 34 Mile Road to Fisher Road
- Southbound Fisher Road to 32 Mile Road
- Eastbound 32 Mile Road to Mound Road
- Southbound Mound Road to 30 Mile Road
- Eastbound 30 Mile Road back to southbound M-53
Northbound M-53 will remain open, and local access will be maintained.
Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, follow posted detour signs, allow additional travel time, and use caution around construction crews and other motorists.
We understand this closure may cause temporary inconvenience, and we appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this important sewer infrastructure work is completed.
